Community Involvement

Showing up, building trust, and strengthening Delavan through service.

Rotary Club

Rotarians are people of action, and Delavan-Darien Rotary lives up to the challenge! Helping organize the 3rd Annual Rotary Artisan Festival at beautiful Congdon Gardens was a highlight of my year.

Delavan Historical Society

Delavan’s Historical Society invites us to look back from 1836 to present, and see the early Temperance Colony, the Circus history, Artist Colony, Bradley Knitting Mill and all the history that followed to grow this beautiful brick-street city. I had the honor of helping DHS host a frightening feast at BrewFest last fall.

New Day Women’s Clinic

President of the Board of Directors – New Day Women’s Clinic is a medical clinic with offices in Delavan and Whitewater, where women find free services and support for an unplanned pregnancy. The Community Give-back Day and client wrap-around care provide resources and continued support for women and families.

Never Say Never Playland Build

The “Never Say Never Playland” build was a remarkable effort by members of the Delavan and surrounding Communities to build a playground in one week! Thank you to Dusti Grenus Iverson for her years of work leading up to building this all inclusive playland for kids of all abilities to play together!

Church and Community

Being an active participant in the ministries of Delavan Christian Reformed Church has been a lifelong privilege. The Delavan community offers many opportunities for volunteering and participating: Helpers in Harmony at First Baptist Church (where I get to play this grand pipe organ installed in 1899); interpreting at the Memorial Day Service; vendor set-up at ScarecrowFest; hosting book club and gatherings; Delavan’s 4th of July Parade; AFS; pulling weeds at Congdon Gardens; subbing at Delavan Christian and DDSD schools; Safe Families for Children; Friends of Aram Public Library and Delavan’s Monday Club . . . endless opportunities in Delavan and the surrounding community. It enriches our lives. Consider joining or volunteering – I think you’ll like it!
